The Hamilton-Wentworth Catholic District School Board hosted a system-wide Faith Day at the FirstOntario Centre, Hamilton. The one day conference was attended by the board’s teachers and staff and included various keynote addresses, presentations, and celebration of the Eucharist.
We supplied the sound, lighting, and video systems for the conference. Using the Kling & Freitag Sequenza 10 line array system for the main audio system hang with the Sequenza 5 for under-fills, near-falls, and out-fills, and the Digico SD12 at front-of-house, and the SD9 at monitors, we were able to cover the entire space with great audio fidelity and handle any last minute requests from the musical performances. The lighting system was comprised of various fixtures including Martin MAC Quantum, MAC III, Elation ZW19, Cuepix blinders and battens, all powered by a GrandMA Lite.
In order to maintain the relevance of the day’s purpose, we created a dynamic stained glass window effect from 6mm LED panels that hung as a backdrop to the stage. The video panels became slow-moving graphics during the music sessions and returned to stained glass still graphics during the teaching sessions.
Faith Day was a wonderful opportunity for all members of the HWCDSB to gather as one community of faith to pray, celebrate and affirm their support of Catholic education.
